CNC Machining & CNC Routing
CNC Machining & Routing
CNC machining and CNC routing, run in our own workshop.
CNC routing, CNC milling and CNC profiling in acrylic, timber, composite, aluminium, brass and steel. Programmed, cut, finished and inspected in Poole, by the same team that quotes the job.

What We Cut
Parts, panels and profiles, made to your drawing
Most of what leaves the workshop is a one off or a short run that a production shop will not take on. If you have a drawing, we can machine it. If you have a sketch and a dimension, we will draw it first and then machine it.
- Machined panels and faces
- Profiled and shaped sections
- Pocketed and recessed parts
- Jigs, fixtures and formers
- Patterns and mould tooling
- Letters, logos and signage faces
- Housings, cases and enclosures
- Plinth and podium components
- Frames and structural members
- Replacement and legacy parts
- Prototype and first off samples
- Repeat runs to a held specification
Process
Three things we mean by CNC
CNC routing
Flat sheet work in acrylic, timber, MDF, composite and plastics. Profiles, pockets, engraving and cut outs held to the same dimension across every piece in a run, which is what makes multi site work look like one order rather than several.
CNC milling
Metal and sheet. Aluminium, brass, mild steel and stainless, milled for fit rather than for show, then welded, formed or polished by the same workshop that cut it.
CNC profiling
Shaped sections, curves and repeating geometry taken straight from the CAD file, including the awkward shapes that are quick on a machine and slow by hand.
What happens after
A machined part is rarely the finished article. Edges are polished, welds dressed, surfaces sanded, powder coated, anodised or painted, and the piece is assembled and checked before it is packed.
Specifying It Well
What to send, and what we will ask
Files we can work from
DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES, SVG, AI, PDF and 3D files. If all you have is a photograph of the part and a tape measure reading, send that. We draw it up, send it back for sign off and machine from the approved drawing.
Size and quantity
Tell us the largest dimension and how many. Large parts are either run whole or split and joined, and we will tell you which before you commit, because the answer changes the price.
Tolerance
Say what the part has to fit into. A display face and a bearing housing need different things, and quoting a tight tolerance on a part that does not need one simply costs you money.
Material
If you are not sure, describe the job and the environment instead. Outdoors, food contact, heat, load and cleaning regime all change the sensible answer, and we would rather specify it than guess.
Who It Is For
Agencies, caterers, retailers and manufacturers
CNC work goes out of here for luxury retail, hotels, caterers, exhibition builders, schools and brands including Anya Hindmarch, bet365, GAIL's Bakery, Smart Group and Moving Venue. There is no minimum order, so one part is as welcome as two hundred, and the per unit cost drops considerably across a run. We also machine under NDA for other makers, where our name never appears on the work.
Questions
Answered plainly
What materials can you machine?
Acrylic and plastics, timber, MDF and composites, and aluminium, brass, mild steel and stainless. If the job mixes materials, which most good ones do, it all happens in the same building rather than being sent out and waited on.
Will you machine a single part?
Yes. There is no minimum order. A single machined part, a prototype or a replacement for something that broke are all normal work here, and we would rather quote it than turn it away.
Do I need a CAD file?
No. A file is quicker and cheaper, but a sketch with dimensions, or a photo of the old part with a measurement on it, is enough to start. We draw it, you approve the drawing, then we cut.
How big a part can you machine?
It depends on the material and the shape, so send the overall size and we will confirm whether it runs in one piece or gets split and joined. Where a part is split, the joint is planned so it lands somewhere it will not be seen.
Can you hold the same dimension across a repeat order?
Yes, and this is the main reason to machine rather than make by hand. The programme and the material specification are kept on file, so a re order in year two matches the first run rather than being close to it.
How long does CNC work take?
Two to three weeks is typical from approved drawing to delivery, and simple parts are often quicker. If you have a fixed date, say so when you enquire and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable before you commit.
How quickly can you quote?
Usually within one working day. Send the file or the sketch, the quantity, your date and a budget range and we will come back with a fixed price.
Start Your Project
Send the file, or the sketch.
Rough is fine. We will come back with a drawing, a material specification and a fixed price.
